My Cup Is Overflowing!

Spiritual Joy

Isaiah 55:1-2 WAIT and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and without price [simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing]. 2Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness [the profuseness of spiritual joy].

Jeremiah 31:12-13 They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion and shall flow together and be radiant with joy over the goodness of the Lord–for the corn, for the juice [of the grape], for the oil, and for the young of the flock and the herd. And their life shall be like a watered garden, and they shall not sorrow or languish any more at all. 13Then will the maidens rejoice in the dance, and the young men and old together. For I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them and make them rejoice after their sorrow.

Today’s Reflection: In Isaiah 55 we are receiving an invitation. If we receive an invitation we must respond, we can either decline or accept. Spiritual joy is not something that the world can provide nor can they understand it. If you have ever worshipped the Lord and suddenly a burst of joy hits you, you know what I am talking about. If we let circumstances dictate our joy, Satan will always find a way to steal it. The joy of the Lord is our strength and that is what the devil wants most is to steal your joy. He knows that if he can get your joy then he can steal your strength.

How do we get this spiritual joy? According to Isaiah we can’t buy it, we simply come to God surrender ourselves & accept the blessing. You notice it says spiritual wine and milk. When we stir up the Holy Spirit inside of us and we worship the Lord by his word we are feeding on the fatness which is referred to as the profuseness of spiritual joy. It is the spiritual joy that cannot compete with the joy that the world experiences. Spiritual joy will bring healing to you and your soul and you  will be overflow with the goodness of Him.
