Are You Dating God?

Revelation 19:8-9 She has been permitted to dress in fine (radiant) linen, dazzling and white–for the fine linen is (signifies, represents) the righteousness (the upright, just, and godly living, deeds, and conduct, and right standing with God) of the saints (God's holy people). 9Then [the angel] said to me, Write this down: Blessed (happy, [a]to be envied) are those who are summoned (invited, called) to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me [further], These are the true words (the genuine and exact declarations) of God.

Song of Solomon 4:8-10 Come away with me from Lebanon, my [promised] bride, come with me from Lebanon. Depart from the top of Amana, from the peak of Senir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards. 9You have ravished my heart and given me courage, my sister, my [promised] bride; you have ravished my heart and given me courage with one look from your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. 10How beautiful is your love, my sister, my [promised] bride! How much better is your love than wine! And the fragrance of your ointments than all spices!

Are you dating God? What kind of a question is that, you may ask? When you date someone you might be testing the waters. You want to know, is this person the right person for me? Is this the person who God has selected to be my husband or wife? If you’re dating God, then maybe you’re still testing the waters! Are you convinced that He has the best plan for your life?

When we are convinced that God has the best plan for our lives, we will acknowledge that plan and let God lead us each step of the way. Our journey with God starts with a relationship with Him. Once we acknowledge that He is our Lord and Savior our journey begins. As we make this journey we are refined, purified, tested, tried and molded into a vessel that can be used for his glory. You notice I said , as you make the journey, I doesn’t happen all at once. God works on us little by little, but we have to be willing to submit our will to God. We are like clay in the potter’s hand! He shapes us and mold us into all he has called us to be (Isaiah 64:8). We will have to overcome to get the victory in our lives every day. God doesn’t just want to touch you & change you, he wants to flow through you to touch a lost & dying world.

Religion has told you “You can’t do that”! Tradition has said “you have no authority or power”! However, God is looking for a willing & obedient person that will allow his power to flow in them & through them. The power (anointing) is not so we can just sit on a pew week after week. The power is to be demonstrated to show His glory to a lost & dying world. God wants you to share the good news with others every day. The bible says we are to lay hands on sick, cast out devils and set the captives free! (Mark 16:17-18)

If we relegate God to move only in our Sunday morning church services, a bible study or a prayer group, we have limited God. God wants to use us and move through us. If we are going to be followers of Jesus Christ, we must be demonstrators of his power and authority! Religion (man’s ways of reaching God) will enslave you. Relationship will empower you to be a witness for him! There is no life in traditions, routines and programs! We must be fruit producing Christians! You can tell an apple tree from an orange tree by its fruit! You will know them by their fruit. (Matt 7:16)

We are empowered with His authority so that we can be a witness for him (Acts 1:8). He pours into us so that we can pour out the good news to others. Witnessing to others can become a part of our everyday routine. I know some of you are saying “I don’t want to be a Jesus freak”! That is religion talking. Some of you are saying “I’m not called to be an evangelist”! No one is asking you to be an evangelist. God is saying I want you to share the good news with others. Preach means to speak. The power of God (the anointing) is voice activated! We have to speak the word of God to someone who is lost and without hope. Without Jesus there is no hope!

Jesus didn’t just talk to his disciples about witnessing. No, he demonstrated the power and authority his Father had given him. Jesus lead by example. If I tell you were going to climb mount Everest and I've never gone climbing, you would probably say to me “no way”. Why? Because I’m asking you to do something that I have never done myself. Jesus was laying hands on the sick, casting out devils and setting the captives free. He DEMONSTRATED the power n authority his father had given him.

God is looking for warrior brides in this hour. He has been preparing, molding, shaping, testing & refining many of us for this final hour. He needs a bride that will not just look pretty but one that will demonstrate His power & authority to all. This is the final hour of his harvest! He needs ALL hands on deck and every follower of His to be demonstrating his power & authority. You can sit back and be a spectator this hour, or you can step up to the plate and decide that you will participate. Spectators can only talk about what they see the participators doing. Participators will not only get to experience God’s power & authority working through their lives but receive the reward of the crown of life!
