Have You found the Perfect Fit?

1 Samuel 17:38- 39 Then Saul clothed David with his armor; he put a bronze helmet on his head and clothed him with a coat of mail. 39And David girded his sword over his armor. Then he tried to go, but could not, for he was not used to it. And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, for I am not used to them. And David took them off.

Romans 8:28 We are assured and know that [ God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

Reflection: Have you ever tried on something that didn't fit? Perhaps it was a pair of shoes that were too small for you! When you put you foot in the shoes your toes touched the tops of the shoes. When you walked you were very uncomfortable & they hurt your feet. You had to take them off. Perhaps you tried on someone's coat and found that it was too big for you. Finding where you fit in the body of Christ can be some what similar.

Saul put his armor on David, however the bible says David tried to go but couldn't, for he was not used to it. David discovered that Saul's armor would not fit him so he had to take it off. Perhaps like David you've found that you don't fit in every place you go. However God has a place for you that will utilize your gifts and talents for his kingdom purpose. Have you ever found yourself like a fish out of water? When asked how many people enjoy or feared public speaking many people said they would rather jump off a cliff then speak to a crowd. However those that said they enjoyed public speaking said that you either love it or hate it there is no inbetween! Look at all the people in your family. Each one of them has different gifts from God. Have you ever heard anyone say "I wish I could ….like that !" Fill in the blank.

The artist who paints would like to know what its like to play the piano. The piano player would love to know how to grow a flower garden. The gardener desires to know how to design their own clothes. The clothes designer would give anything to be able to cook. The cook desires to be able to sing. The singer wants to know what its like to be a writer. The writer desires to know what it would be like to be an actor or actress. And on and on! You see no matter what gift/s God has given you he has the perfect fit for you somewhere to use those gift/s. God has given you those gift/s to help you fulfill the calling that he has placed on your life. Sometimes your gifts are hidden waiting to be discovered by seeking the Lord. Sometimes your gift/s are obvious and others may comment and tell you that you are really great at something. Allow God to be in every part of your life and he will show you your gifts and lead you how to use them for his glory. Finding the perfect fit can only be accomplished when we allow the Lord to be our guide.

God has a perfect plan for you that will fit you like a glove. He designed you with all your gifts and talents. You will without a doubt know when you are standing in your calling. Why? Because it will come naturally to you! Your heart will sing with delight knowing that God is using you for his kingdom purpose. We all have different gifts but from the same spirit. God wants to show you where the perfect fit is for you. It starts by doing what he wants all his followers to do. He desires that you allow him to use you to be a witness & a testimony of his great love.  We will discover our gifts and talents and how to use them for his kingdom purpose, when we place his kingdom first! He has given us a mandate to seek & save the lost. Seek means to find and when we find them we are to show them the way home to Christ! Because only the Lord can show them who they are in his image!

So the next time you desire to have someone else gift ask the Lord to show you the gift/s that he has placed in your life. Ask the Lord to show you how to use your gifts for his kingdom purpose! There is nothing greater than accomplishing the Lord's will for your life.

Take a minute to read my testimony and how God revealed to me my gift/s and calling!
