Sowing Seeds & Getting a Harvest! (Part 4 of 4)

What Kind of Ground are you Sowing into?

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Luke 8: 5-8 A sower went out to sow seed; and as he sowed, some fell along the traveled path and was trodden underfoot, and the birds of the air ate it up. 6And some [seed] fell on the rock, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away because it had no moisture. 7And other [seed] fell in the midst of the thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it [off]. 8And some seed fell into good soil, and grew up and yielded a crop a hundred times [as great]. As He said these things, He called out, He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and understand by hearing!

Reflection: Yesterday we talked about the ground with anxieties & cares. Today we are going to talk about the ground with good soil where it yields a crop a hundred times greater! We learned yesterday that the seed (the word of God) never changes, but the conditions that are present can & will. We also learned that the first step to sowing a seed is obedience. The second step to sowing a seed is taking action! Next we discover the ground we are about to sow into.

Ok let’s look at what the next sower does! This seed fell into good soil, and grew up and yielded a crop a hundred times [as great]. These are [the people] who, hearing the Word, hold it fast in a just ([d]noble, virtuous) and worthy heart, and steadily bring forth fruit with patience.

I want you to see today that if your heart, which is the soil of the ground, is filled with God’s word & promises that you will eventually bring forth a harvest that is a hundred times greater. You must hear the word, hold fast to it & now here is the key, have patience. Even though you started out with little faith & circumstances and undesirables came against  you, or you allowed the anxieties & worries to choke out the promises, eventually you believe what the word of God says & with patience’s you will bring forth a harvest!
