Have you Thanked God Today?

Being Thankful in a World that is Ungrateful!

Psalm 52:8-9 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in and confidently rely on the loving-kindness and the mercy of God forever and ever. 9 I will thank You and confide in You forever, because You have done it [delivered me and kept me safe]. I will wait on, hope in and expect in Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your saints (Your kind and pious ones).

Hebrews 6:18 This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us].

Reflection: Two little words that can bring a smile to someone’s face and let them know they are appreciated! Yet how often do we forget to say them?

We live in a world that many think that they are owed something! We live in a world that doesn’t always take the time to acknowledge someone or say thank you even for the small things. Many people that I get to pray with to receive Jesus Christ are very thankful. However I redirect them to thank the one who died for them so that they could be set free, Jesus. I tell them I’m just his representative, sent to tell you and others like you in the world that he not only loves you, but gives you the opportunity to have eternal life with him. Then they will usually say something like this, well thank you for coming today & praying with me, I really needed to hear that!

Now let me ask you something? When was the last time you thanked God? When was the last time that you thanked someone else? We sometimes allow our busy lives to take over & we forget who give us life and eternal life. We are not only to thank Him when the times are good, but we must also learn to thank him & praise Him through the storms of life! I encourage you today that when nothing seems to be going right & the enemy has put a target on your back, to lift your hands up and repeat what Psalm 52:8-9 says! Thank HIM because he has delivered you and kept you safe! Now put a smile on someone else’s face today by saying “Thank You”!
