Launching Out into the Deep!

Taking God at His Word!

Luke 5:4-6  4When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

Reflection: The bible tells us not to lose heart or grow weary & faint in doing right, for in time our season will come and we will reap a harvest! In these last days before the appearing of Christ, we, the Body of Christ are going to have to not grow weary or faint so that we will reap our harvest!

In Luke Chapter 5 we see how Peter and all his fishing buddies had fished all night & caught nothing. They were tired, discouraged and they didn’t even have any fish to eat. Jesus had finished speaking when he came upon two boats & it happened to be Peter’s boat that he decides to get into.

Something happens when our faith rises & we know that we know that we know that Jesus is with us! We have to be willing to pull away from our safety zone & launch out into the deep. When Jesus gets in our boat and we trust Him to do what he tells us to do, we have to believe that we will have whatever it is that we are believing God for.

Now put yourself in Peter’s shoes, you’ve been fishing all night, your tired, your nets are washed & your are probably hungry and most likely discouraged because you haven’t caught any fish. If you are a fisherman & you haven’t caught any fish, that is not a good thing. But something happened when Jesus got in Peter’s boat! It was like he was saying to Peter C’mon put your faith out there one more time Peter and not only will you catch fish, but you’ll catch so many that your nets will break!

We can become discouraged by past disappointments; we can become tired & worn out from trying over & over again and getting the same results. We may think to ourselves, what’s the use, it hasn’t worked in the past. However, if we are basing our faith on the word of God, we know that God is not a liar, so if we won’t give up & keep trying than surely we will see things change & our harvest reaped! So launch out into the deep today and watch what God will do for you!
