Seeking the Heart of Jesus!

Share

Lets take off our Religious masks!

Isaiah 29:13-14 – 13 And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips but remove their hearts and minds far from Me, and their fear and reverence for Me are a commandment of men that is learned by repetition [without any thought as to the meaning], 14 Therefore, behold! I will again do marvelous things with this people, marvelous and astonishing things; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their discerning men will vanish or be hidden.

Matthew 15:7-9 – 7 You pretenders (hypocrites)! Admirably and truly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said: 8 These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. 9 Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men.

Reflection: What would Jesus say if he walked into our churches today during a time of Praise & Worship? Would he call us Hypocrites or pretenders? Would He hear the sounds of heaven or would he hear the world's music hidden in Christian lyrics? Would he find people sitting in the pews texting & updating their facebook status or would he find us on our feet praising Him with all our hearts? Would he find the true worshipers, worshipping Him in sprit & truth? Or would he find songs being sung that were not touching peoples hearts but drawing them away from Him?

Jesus said they honor me with their lips, but remove their hearts & minds from me and their fear & reverence from me. Are we just giving Jesus good lip service? Do we sing the songs that everybody else sings but there is no anointing in them? I’ve seen the anointing on songs that are upbeat as well as songs that are serene and filled with a sound from heaven. I think there needs to be balance between the two! It’s the hearts of God’s people, that worship comes from, that makes the difference. Have you ever been in a church service where the minister or pastor gets up on the pulpit & the presence of God is so thick! He knows that God is moving & he continues to worship & listen for divine direction from the voice of the Lord. He becomes a yielded vessel that God can work through!

When we are submitted to the Lord’s will & we know and recognize His voice, we will not push our own agendas! We will honor him and allow Him to do what He wants to do! I believe, there will come a day when the doors of His churches (not the worldly church) will never close! I believe that those that are sick in body will come, as well as bring others. Like the woman with the issue of blood, she spent all her money and her condition grew worse! But,she knew that if she could just touch Jesus she would be healed of her infirmity! If we could only begin to understand, we have what the world needs! We have the answer they are looking and that no amount of money can buy! The answer to healing, deliverance and freedom is JESUS, in us and through us! Let’s listen for God’s voice! Let’s press in and worship Him in sprit & truth! Let’s not just give Jesus good lip service but totally surrender our hearts to Him! Let’s draw near to Him and He will draw near to us! We never want to hear him say “Uselessly do they worship Me,",do we?
