They aren’t coming, Because we aren’t going!

Two hands reaching for each other

Stand up! Get up! And GO!

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 – 4 And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power [a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them], 5 So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God

Proverbs 18:21 – 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]

Reflection: Paul, an ordinary man, touched by God's power to become a mighty man of God, knew that what he spoke & what he preached must be by the demonstration of the Holy Spirit & power! He knew that his words alone would not affect nor draw those that were looking for a Savior, because they had no power to do so. He knew that the message he was preaching was not to impress others, with fancy words of wisdom! He also knew that to send forth a message without the demonstration of the Holy Spirit & power, people’s hearts would not be touched & changed nor would they repent & turn from their sins. He didn’t want those that would hear him speak or preach to put their faith in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God! That is why Paul never preached a weak, watered down, apathetic, compromising, greasy grace, everything goes, message! He preached by the demonstration of the Holy Spirit & power!

We sing songs in our services that say there is power in His name, but yet are we demonstrating His power to others? Do we see this world through the eyes of Jesus & can we feel how close it is to His soon return? Do we really believe that Jesus is living on the inside of us, or is He only with us on Sunday morning? Is Jesus welcome at our breakfast tables, our places of work and our communities or is He being kept a secret? Why would we, as a Christians, keep silent about the greatest gift that God has given us,to share with others?

If what we have is a true relationship with Jesus Christ we will not be able to be silent about Him, nor will be ashamed of Him! We won’t relegate Him to a backroom on Sunday morning, but we will give Him a seat of honor in our churches & in our homes! When he comes to knock on the door of our churches, we will welcome him in! If we want what Jesus wants for his church in this hour, then we need to do what he said to do! We pray and we believe, but without obedience to follow through to take a step of faith & reach out to our communities with the gospel, we will keep wondering why aren’t they coming to our churches? They aren’t coming, because we aren’t going.

When we begin to understand that people aren’t looking for the things of this world! Will we stop offering them a Band-Aid for their problems and instead offer them the author & finisher of their faith? When we lift up the name of Jesus, all men will be drawn to Him! If we aren’t excited about Jesus living on the inside of us, why should others be? If what we have is real, then we can take it wherever we go & impart it to others who will believe, receive & obey!

If the Holy Spirit lives inside of you, than you carry the gift of eternal life! His gift to you will remain dormant unless you chose to stir it up and use it for God’s glory. Our words have no effect on people lives unless we use the words of Jesus. The Holy Spirit when we speak His words, shows his power to others when we speak to them about Jesus! Jesus had to teach his disciples how to be a fisher’s of men, but he endured them with the power of the Holy Spirit to become fishers of men. So that when they spoke, people’s hearts would be touched by His words & drawn to the Savior.

The answer is clear & His name is Jesus but we MUST get the message out! Church, we must allow Him to use us in this hour to be his hands, feet & voice! He is searching the whole earth to find those that will be faithful in this hour to take His message wherever we go! He isn’t looking at our education, status or titles, he is looking for the ones that will be faithful & obedient! He is looking for the ones that will say, I’ll go, I’ll tell them about you & I will allow your power to flow through me to them! It’s time to be the church on fire, the church that won’t compromise but will STAND UP, GET UP & GO!
